Caddi Kayne Introduces her new single “We Can’t Be Friends”

During a time when R&B music has been denounced “DEAD”, the emergence of multi-talented artist/songwriter, Caddi Kaye, has come at a much needed time to resuscitate the game. This North Carolina artist has independently begun to create a name for herself in a male dominated industry. From memorable melodies to catchy hooks, Caddi Kaye is a name for us to become familiar with. The star-studded entertainer/entrepreneur has developed a rare sound to accompany her unique style. Caddi Kaye has placed numerous songs on compilation mixtapes, alongside the likes of EuroGotIt, Damar Jackson, Derez Deshon, and more.

The new single “ We Can’t Be Friends” her songwriting cap came on. If you thoroughly listen to the song you can hear an upstate rapper with a R&B/Soul hook. Caddi started writing with that in mind, leaning towards a Dave East + Bryon Tiller type of vibe. It then began to get personal as she started to tell her own story. Soulful vibes came through on the hook, as the song progressed to the bridge. A few months later, VVG contacted me about a feature. I let him hear the track and he immediately had a verse. The rest is history.
